The fourth meditation on "The crosses we bear"
God is love - even amid our pain and suffering. Only through the sufferings of this life can we attain inner strength that leads us to heaven and our everlasting life where there is only happiness and joy.
God does not take our sufferings away but, rather, shares the weight of our cross as a reminder of unconditional love. It is not easy to accept the crosses we are meant to bear, but I pray we can find strength as we gaze upon the cross. Look into the eyes of Jesus - the bruised arms opened to us as an invitation to ask for help with whatever cross we are asked to bear.
THINK:
Of stepping on the shore and finding it heaven!
Of taking hold of a hand and finding it God's hand!
Of breathing a new air and finding it celestial air!
Of feeling invigorated and finding it immortality!
Of passing from storm and tempest
To an unbroken calm;
Of waking up and finding yourself home!
